Van Til - The Sovereignty of God

Van Til had some interesting but very complex things to say about the Sovereignty of God, this is what I gleaned: God's foreknowledge, argues Van Til is personal, unlike the impersonal nature of determinism, because God is a person, not an abstract system. Without revelation, we don't know when God is confirming or hindering our will. Although Van Til was a fan of predestination he saw human will as important. However apart from affirming a Jobian theodicy, which shrouds the origin of evil in mystery, but not human freedom, Van Til frustratingly doesn't offer a clear solution to the problem of evil. Interestingly the he points out that our choice in this matter is between a solution that requres mystery or a solution that ascribes meaningless to the origin of evil.
